Hello,my name is Beatrice
Wartchow but I'm known around
these parts as Ms. Bea. I have a
BA and double majored in dance
and, cultural anthropology. I have
been teaching preschoolers and
tots for over a decade now. I have
a husband and three girls whose
ages are 22, 13, and five. They
keep me on my toes that's for sure. I enjoy bee keeping, gardening, crafting and time spent with family and friends. I have worked at Musical for 2 years and look forward to working here for many more.
I am happy to be returning for my sixth year at The Musical Montessori. Working with these amazing kids brings me great joy every day! After attending St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota and living 13 years in the oilfields of the southern US, my husband and I returned to Shoreview. We raised two lovely and successful daughters who "flew the coop" and live one on each coast. Being a retired Delta Airlines employee grants me the ability to visit them often. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, crafting, cooking and travel.

Our Musical Montessori class is led by Katherine McDowall. Katherine is certified by the American Montessori Society and holds a Master’s Degree from the College of St. Scholastica. She has been sharing the Montessori Method with preschoolers and their families for over 25 years. In her spare time she enjoys reading, playing the piano, enjoying time with her family, and riding her Harley Davidson Street Glide. She says the highest compliment she ever received was from a child who said, “Ms. Katherine, you are always smiling!”
Amanda began playing piano when she was three years old in the YAMAHA music program. She started private lessons at age seven and continued under various instructors, including Dr. Paul Wirth. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a piano emphasis in May of 2016. Amanda has taught thirty-five unique students privately over the past six years as well as in the Montessori school setting. She understands the challenges that come with learning music, but turns those challenges into fun! Her approach to teaching has allowed her students to progress at a rate that fits their learning style, which leads to a feeling of success and satisfaction. Aside from teaching Amanda enjoys ultimate Frisbee, downhill skiing, and photography.
